In this highly experiential course, we’ll explore evidence-backed techniques for establishing mindful awareness, working with common roadblocks, and customizing your practice to make it work for your unique needs.
Drawing from the curriculum for Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), we’ll practice meditations that involve sitting, lying down, walking, and gentle stretching. You’ll also receive audio recordings of my guided meditations, and will be invited to practice at home throughout the course. The primary objective of this class is to develop the skills you’ll need in order to establish and maintain a sustainable and enjoyable mindfulness practice.

After learning about the many health benefits of mindfulness meditation—such as such as reducing stress and anxiety, lowering blood pressure, managing chronic pain, and improving sleep—many attorneys have started a mindfulness practice full of enthusiasm, only to find themselves stuck or discouraged after encountering issues such as a racing mind, an aching back, sleepiness, or wondering whether the practice is “working.” What many don’t know is that almost every meditator encounters these obstacles at some point, and that meditation experts have developed techniques to work with them all. In this experiential workshop, we explore the nuts-and-bolts of how to work with such challenges in order to build and sustain an enjoyable practice, for years to come.
